JULIE: It’s a joy to have you, Michael, and your beautiful wife, Heidi, join us for this interview. Having Michael with us on our Extraordinary Women tour is such a blessing. As we gather together on those special weekends with thousands of women at our conferences, I can’t help but think of how much everybody enjoys Michael’s praise and worship. He truly has a heart for God, and his love for you, Heidi, your children, and God is evident.

Michael, what is your mission—you main goal—at each Extraordinary Women conference?

MICHAEL: Usually the goal of any worship leader is less of you and more of God, so I want to engage women at the events to worship the Lord. I want to be sure that I’m not

over singing, so there are times when I’ll stop because that usually makes people want to sing even more. The ultimate goal is to draw women into worship so they will put their focus solely on God and His goodness and the joy that comes from simply praising Him. The Bible says He inhabits the praises of His people, so I feel like that’s my job and how I feel closest to the Lord.

JULIE: I truly don’t think there’s anything more powerful than watching you lead praise and worship music while looking out over the audience and seeing all those women with upstretched arms, holding hands and singing. It’s so neat to see them praising God and growing their relation-ship with the Lord.
