It was a Friday morning, the day after Thanksgiving, when I received a
horrible phone call alerting me to the fact that there were fire trucks and
an ambulance at my daughter Melissa’s home. It had been preceded by
a troubling call from her. She told me that she loved me and asked that I
express her love to her mother and sisters. I begged Melissa to make that
call herself, but she said she couldn’t. Two phone calls that fateful morning
changed my life, and the lives of my family, forevermore.
On that day, a threshold was crossed when suicide
hit my family.
As followers of Christ and believers in God’s Word
and His eternal plan, life “threw us a curve” from which we will never quite
recover… and have certainly not been the same since.
