Become Equipped
More than other deaths, suicide raises
the question of “Why?” A survivor may
have internal or external dialogue, such
as, “I don’t believe it... there’s just no
way... not Joey...!” Unlike an accidental
fatality, the victim is responsible for the
death and isn’t here to help us under-
stand
why
.
Along with the question of “Why?,”
the “PAIR” program will leave you
equipped to guide clients and parishio-
ners through other difficult questions
and issues such as, “Could I have done
anything to prevent it?” and “What can
I do about this guilt?” and “What about
God… why didn’t He do something?”
We need leaders to stand up and
reverse the growing number of suicide
attempts and completions by receiving
the education and training necessary to
provide excellent assessment and inter-
vention. I can’t wait to see what God
is going to do with this new training
program... and to hear of lives saved and
loved ones celebrating life.
